Established by JA Prince Edward Island in 1998 and modelled after JA Canada’s Canadian Business Hall of Fame, the PEI Business Hall of Fame celebrates Prince Edward Island’s top current and past business leaders.
At this year’s JA PEI Business Hall of Fame Gala, Dave McGuire, owner of Bogside Brewing and member of the Wallace McCain Institute, met Xavier Beck, a JA Company Program student and founder of Classix Boards. Xavier was part of our Student Marketplace, showcasing his handcrafted woodwork.
Impressed by his skill and initiative, Dave commissioned Xavier to build custom butcher block tables and stools for Bogside’s new location in New Glasgow. The finished work
spoke for itself. Now, with a new location opening in Summerside, Dave is already looking forward to working with Xavier again.
This is what Junior Achievement is all about. Mentorship, connection, and real-world experience that helps prepare the next generation of business leaders!🌟
